The 6 Best Books of 2024 So Far

We’re halfway through the year, and summer reading season is upon us! I’ve read lots of interesting books this year, and if you’re looking for some suggestions, here are the best ones I’ve read so far:.

The Women by Kristin Hannah

Best book of 2024 so far for me! This was recommended by Sharon McMahon and is historical fiction about the women who served in Vietnam. What a rich and complex story. You will probably stay up late at least one night with this one, fair warning.

Building a Second Brain by Tiago Forte

My friend suggested I read this many months ago and I shouldn’t have waited so long. If you’re interested in how to get your digital life better organized for more ease and effectiveness, this is an excellent read.

One by One by Ruth Ware

I always enjoy Ruth Ware’s stories and this was no different. A fascinating mystery with elements of tech startup culture, a team retreat, and skiing.

Royal Holiday by Jasmine Guillory

This is part of a series that you don’t really need to read in order. The main setting is in the SF Bay Area which is home for me, and it’s just fun stories about friends and relationships that is always easy and enjoyable.

The Exchange by John Grisham

Grisham is an author whose books I never miss. This one has an international setting but continues common themes of lawyers and tricky situations. You’ll get hooked early into this story.

A Fever in the Heartland by Timothy Egan

This is a historic piece about the rise and fall of the KKK in America. I learned lots of history I didn’t know and had my mind blown a few times about how close the country came to being truly and fully run by this terrorist organization.
