Design Your Weekly Family Meeting
Tired of feeling overwhelmed by endless family logistics, where you and your partner only talk about chores and schedules instead of what actually matters? In this 60-minute live workshop, I'll teach you the simple, proven framework that helps families replace the mental load and last-minute scrambles with a calm, shared plan in just 15–30 minutes a week. This isn't a lecture — you'll build the bones of your own meeting agenda during the session, practice conversation starters that get everyone engaged, troubleshoot the snags that stop most families from sticking with it, and leave ready to run your first family meeting this weekend.

Buy TicketBest Practices of Excellent Managers
Are you a new manager who's never been formally trained — or a seasoned one who knows there are habits you'd like to sharpen? In this interactive workshop, I'll walk you through 10 practical keys to becoming a great manager: communicating your management style clearly, hiring and onboarding well while reducing bias, creating and repeating clarity around priorities and roles, holding check-ins tailored to each person, delegating using the lens of skill/will/stakes, appreciating your team meaningfully, giving honest feedback with care, retaining your best people, building systems that support good management habits, and modeling sustainable work practices. The emphasis is on realistic, human-centered leadership — we'll close by helping you pick the one idea that energizes you most and start there. You'll leave with concrete tips, templates, and follow-up resources.

Meet Jess
I'm a mom of 2, have spent decades in professional leadership roles (including ones with very tricky external dynamics and multi-million dollar fundraising needs), and I'm the kind of person who my friends go to for all the questions about home systems and what to do when work is overwhelming.
I'm a former nonprofit Executive Director who now helps organizations strengthen their teams through high-quality workshops on project management, energy management, and operational effectiveness. Through my company, Joyfully Managed Life®, I've led hundreds of workshops for nonprofits and mission-driven organizations, including Teach For America, Foundation for Jewish Camp, The Oakland REACH, National Equity Project, and the U.S. Department of Justice.
My clients consistently describe my sessions as engaging, practical, and immediately applicable. My approach is grounded in two decades of experience in the education and nonprofit sectors, where I learned firsthand that talented teams need practical systems — not just inspiration — to thrive.
I live in the Bay Area with my family and remain deeply committed to supporting the people who do the hard work of strengthening our communities.
