Three Things I'm Loving Lately

THREE THINGS.png

A friend recently shared a picture of her newly-updated bedroom heading into 2020. She made sure to note that underneath the sheets was the heated mattress pad I had recommended to her several months ago. I love that mattress pad with all of my being, and knowing that my dear friend was also going to enjoy that coziness each night made my day. It also inspired me to want to share more about some of the things I love the most.

So here’s three things I’m loving lately. I’d love to hear what you’re loving, too (and send links!).

Heated Mattress Pad
I am perpetually cold, especially in the winter months. I am married to someone who is the opposite - Jon is some sort of human radiator it seems. This glorious heated mattress pad has two sides, so one person can heat up theirs to the highest setting while the other person can leave theirs off completely or just have it slightly warm. It makes getting into bed much easier (which is something we all need, no?). I do have to admit that it can make it a bit more difficult to get out of bed in the morning because the coziness factor is so high. We pair it with this smart plug that we have set to automatically turn off every morning at 6am so that I don’t accidentally leave it on all day.

Hair Dryer Mount for Wall
I was reorganizing my bathroom drawers this past spring and realized how much space my hair dryer was taking up in the drawer. I grabbed my phone and searched on Amazon to see what solutions exist for hair dryer storage. I was delighted to find an $8 option from 3M right away (if you’ve been in my house, you know that 3M hooks can be found in every room). It’s been a lovely and affordable solution - it stays up in the corner out of the way and I can easily grab it when I need it. It works even better because my hair dryer has a retractable cord, but it would work with any kind of hair dryer.

Conversation Starter Cards
My family went on a road trip this summer to Southern California, and I wanted to prioritize some fun conversations with my husband about things other than the logistics of life. We have enjoyed boxes of conversation cards in the past, so I made a point to order a fresh box from which we could pick interesting conversation topics. This box made the trip more fun than it already was, and we now take it with us for even shorter drives (for example, on a recent half-hour drive to a date night activity). We have enjoyed this brand in the past, too. They have all sorts of options for different types of gatherings and people. I can’t wait until my kids are a little older to get this one for dinner and road trip conversations, and I might get this one for my moms group when we go away for a weekend this coming March.

Do you already have any of the things here? What else are you loving lately?
