I help talented teams improve their effectiveness by taking their productivity and organization practices up several notches with high-quality workshops.

There are easier and more streamlined ways to get things done!

Because your team’s capacity is everything when it comes to the impact you can have.

My presentations are for real people who juggle the modern stress of leading teams, managing projects, raising families, and navigating the millions of other obligations nipping at our heels on any given day (travel dreams, kids extracurriculars, mealtimes, and so much more)!

My presentations are power-packed with tools, perspectives, systems, and actionable steps that are road-tested by a leader with decades of experience who understands the logistics, guilt, and anxiety that we face on a daily basis.

Feedback From Workshop Participants

Every presentation is tailored for your team.

Here are a few of my most popular topics!

  • Highly practical and research-based strategies for managing a team at work, managing up to your boss, and managing laterally to external and internal colleagues to accomplish important work in the world.

  • Participants are guided through a proven 4-part process to take their email from a place of overwhelm to much more productive, including guidance on how to keep their email inbox under control moving forward.

  • Teams often struggle with clarity on who makes decisions on their team and how those decisions are made. In reality, there are 6 main ways decisions can get made, and each approach is valid in certain circumstances. We'll cover when to use which approach, and practice with tools that help when you are aiming for consensus and clarify where in the decision-making process you are in some of your most important team decisions (and then we'll work through what to do when consensus is hard to arrive at as a team).

  • Participants leave with clarity on where their project management practices are strong and where they can take them to the next level. Includes work time built in to plan next steps for a project they are managing or about to kick off.

  • You want your team to thrive, avoid burnout, have clarity on their priorities, and be deeply engaged and joyful at work. But how do you actually manage to support that to be true? This workshop is for managers and teams of managers who want to be truly excellent managers that get the best results with their teams.

  • Understanding our personal values as individuals is core for doing our best work, and when a team understands collectively the most important values that each of us holds, it can transform the team’s ability to work together effectively. I’ll guide your team through an exercise using a number of exercises to uncover our individual values and then lead an engaging discussion for what this means for you as a team.

  • Asana is a powerful tool, but it can also be overwhelming. Let’s design a workshop for your team’s specific needs to ensure you all know how to use the basics of Asana, have clear shared expectations for how you’ll use it together, and avoid the most common pitfalls teams experience using a project management tool like this one.

  • Are you constantly putting out fires, struggling to find time for your top priorities, surrounded by a lions' mane of post-it notes with jotted notes, and/or keeping too many to-dos in your head? This workshop will support you, whether you like to get organized on paper or digitally, to put in place a proven weekly and daily planning process that works for you in your specific role and organization, including how to prioritize spending your time on the highest-leverage tasks. This is a game-changer for anyone who wants to be more productive in order to make a bigger positive impact at work.

  • Hiring - often a top priority, but so time-consuming and process-heavy. This workshop will cover how to prioritize what matters, reconsider some traditions of hiring that you might not need to be doing at all, and find really great teammates to join your team and make a positive impact with you.

  • Taking time to replenish energy is key to being able to perform at our best. Participants will get a chance to assess their current energy levels in different aspects of life, create a plan for how to rejuvenate themselves regularly, and share with colleagues how they can support each other.

  • Appreciation matters at work - for individuals and for broader team culture. Participants will get a chance to understand the science around why appreciation matters, understand how they and their teammates best receive appreciation, and get a chance to kickoff appreciation practices in the workshop.

  • Whether you have been winging your onboarding or you think you’re pretty good at it but have a hunch you can take your game up a few levels, this workshop will help you clarify what matters most in great onboarding (based on the research) and create a plan that you actually have capacity to execute for your next new hire.

  • A workshop series on habit development, including identity-based habits, the habit loop, and how to make habits visible, attractive, easy, and satisfying.

  • Communicating well at work is one of the most critical things that teams need to do in order to succeed together. In this workshop, depending on your needs, we can work on topics like appreciation, apology, feedback, and platforms for communication.

  • Do you want to support your team to have better home routines and traditions that support their overall wellness? In this workshop, participants design home routines and systems that support them to feel less overwhelmed and find more joy and ease.

  • Whether you want to create space for your team to define their own personal values as individuals or create values as a team or organization, one of my favorite activities to lead is a series of reflections and discussions to narrow down the most important core values of an individual or a team.

  • Do you want your team to improve their skills in taking notes so that they can be more productive, less stressed, and take more ownership over their work? I love sharing best practices (and different strategies depending on individual preferences) about how to take great notes to enable action after the meeting has ended.

  • I’m happy to help plan your team retreat and/or facilitate parts of it! Let’s discuss what you need and see if I’m the right fit - if not, I’m happy to recommend who might be.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you do virtual or in-person workshops?
Both. I’m comfortable doing workshops virtually and have a quality technology set up to ensure we have an effective online learning experience. I also love traveling to be in-person with clients and am happy to see if we can make that work for your team. I am located in the SF Bay Area.

How long are the workshops?
It depends on group size, content, and a few other factors, but most of the above workshops can be done in 60-90 minutes. Sometimes we do a full day with multiple workshops with breaks in between, and this approach can work well for teams wanting to invest in their teams and have shared language.

What is the ideal size of the group?
This can also depend on the experience level of the group and the topic, but workshops can be successful with as few as 3-4 participants and I’ve led workshops with 200+ participants as well.

What’s your background?
I have worked in the education, nonprofit, and business arenas for over 20 years. I have been an award-winning classroom teacher and a successful entrepreneur in both the nonprofit and business sectors. I have decades of experience leading adult professional development on many organizational and individual topics.

What do you mean by “workshop”?
While I do enjoy public speaking, these are not speeches. These are engaging workshops where your team will be actively involved in their own learning and applying it on-the-spot to real challenges they are facing in their day-to-day work.

What’s the pricing?
Your investment in your team is $2,000* per workshop, and this includes

  • Before-session meetings (as many as are helpful) so that I can personalize the workshop to your teams’ specific needs and plan ahead for how to make the learning as successful as possible.

  • Live, high-quality workshop for your team

  • Post-session follow-up resources for your team to reference and deepen their learning, designed especially for your team’s needs

  • Raffle prizes for participants if you are interested in this approach (which can help deepen engagement for particularly large groups)

  • If in-person, this price includes printed materials for your staff

*I am a former nonprofit Executive Director, and I proudly offer a nonprofit price of $1,750 per workshop to support your team in the important work they are doing. There will be an additional fee for groups larger than 25.

If workshops happen in person outside of the SF Bay Area, a travel fee of $1,500 also applies in addition to lodging, transportation, and food costs for the trip to be reimbursed afterward.

I am a proud member of 1% for the Planet, which means that I donate at least 1% of my topline revenue directly to organizations working on solving our climate crisis.
