I’m 10. I did the prequel Launchpad program for young entrepreneurs. Here’s what I thought.

This summer, I created a business called Fashion, Fur, and Friends. I sell pet bandanas, and guess what? Using a special Zoom camp, I earned over $200 in profit in just two weeks! Some of the other kids sold other items (like 3-D-printed earrings) and earned over $400.

I only managed to achieve this goal because of the great teachers and mentors at Prequel Launchpad! They made sure I had an accomplishable business plan and an idea to get started by the second day! Their help gave me the confidence to sell my first product on the 4th day of camp.

The program is online and two sessions are available. The 4 week session, or the 2 week session (I did the two-week one!) Kids are assisted in:

  • Making marketing materials (I used Canva for mine)

  •  Learning about stocks and other personal finance topics

  •  Private 1:1 coaching calls (I was surprised that this was included but it helped me a lot)

  • Group projects and activities in Zoom Breakouts

We also used Slack for any homework assignments or extra fun bonus videos and tips. Each day, we started with a warm-up of a couple of Rebus Puzzles.

I definitely recommend it for any child who wants to learn entrepreneurship skills, even if you don’t plan to own a business someday. The things we learned would be helpful to be successful in school or any career you choose.

Jessica’s note: Thanks for reading my daughter’s guest post. We really liked this program so much so I asked them for a discount code for my audience and they agreed. You can use JESSICA100 for $100 off Prequel Launchpad. They have info events you can check out on Zoom as well, and they also have programs geared towards teenagers.
